London (Day 1)

Took me so long to update on this, can't believe I've already started my second semester.
So, LONDON! It was a dream come true for me to actually go to London. I was only there for 3 days and it its levels of awesome is beyond what I've expected. :D

My other friends flew to London 2 days earlier before I did cause I wanted to stay back and study for a bit as there were end of sem exams right after our two week Christmas break. Turns out, I didnt study much :( procrastination can actually kill you. :(:(:( but i DID study A BIT. It was better than nothing though. hehehh.

So I flew up from Belfast during Christmas eve. Don't judge me saying this, but I actually felt quite proud of myself flying alone and finding my way to make it to the apartment my friends were staying in.

HOWEVER, at one point while I was taking the tube to Kensington, halfway through while the train was moving it just FREAKING STOPPED OUT OF NOWHERE. I kinda panicked a bit, cause' we stopped for quite a while, roughly 15 to 20 minutes.
My initial logic for trains was that IT IS SUPPOSED TO BE MOVING AT ALL TIMES in between every station. So yes, that's why I panicked at one point there.

Heathrow tube station, honestly the tube system is really really confusing. Like not all the train lines have fixed routes. Worst case was there were lines that was closed on public holidays and the other opened lines change its routes. Mind boggling, but yes I had to rely on my Citymapper app and Google maps to go round London, first time ever I had to be super dependent on my phone.

The buses however, are more convenient than the tube. Not to mention so much cheaper compared to the tube.

High Street Kensington!

Met the others at the apartment, dropped off my stuff then I went out with Zhao Ling. I forgot what the others were doing though.

On my way to Buckingham palace. They have this guard changing ceremony everyday at 11.00 am.

 The Wellington Arch

Green Park.
Really there are a lot of parks in London, and they all are just freakin huge.

Lookie who I met up with! Vivien!

And Jason!
From Penang to Ireland to London.

Ling

Westminster City.

Zhao Ling and I had experienced a whole new level of money begging by random people around Westminister, a lot would dress up in costumes and makeup and approach you for a photo. Later discovering their whole purpose for doing this is for money. Some even used charity as an excuse. Some aren't satisfied with the amount I give them would ask for more, even telling me that " GOD CAN SEE EVERYTHING" That's what pissed me off, but I never gave in.
HEY, its already good enough that I contributed some money for their
so-called charity. Its just sad there are people in this world who feels no shame at all. Such ungrateful people.

Quite proud of this photo. A group of down syndrome kids touring London.

Feels like I'm in Hogwarts. heheh

Realized how awkward I look here D:

Trafalgar Square.

BEWILDERED IT IS. Master Yoda is floating. hahah
Took me a while to figure out how it actually works for them to look like they're floating like this.

Convent Garden. Its like Belfast's St George's market, except there are restaurants and more expensive food.

And branded retail stores.

Jamie Oliver's Union Jacks. The food is cheaper than I expected. If im not mistaken its around 6 pounds each for those above.

Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park. Its like a freaking huge theme park. Bigger than Pesta in Penang. There's also a Chrismas Market inside

Ling was so afraid that I'd drop the sausage while taking this photo hahah!

That pretty much sums up my first day in London. More to come. Stay tuned.
